Spencer
have elaborated his theory in several of his books and articles,
the best introduction would be Theological Music Introduction
to Theomusicology (1991, Greenwood Press, New York). It's
probably not available in bookstores, but should be found in
university libraries. Spencer is also editor of the journal
Black Sacred Music: A Journal of Theomusicology.
For a short presentation of his
theory on theomusicology and my own application of it see Theology
and music, an extract from a meditation on methods in "rock/theology
