I play clarinet.
My clarinet has brought me to many parts of the world– to New Orleans, to Jerusalem, to Brazil, to South Africa – and back to the traditional music of Norway. With my clarinet I found the blue sound. A sound where sounds from the creole clarinetists of New Orleans, the jewish klezmer musicians, calypso and norwegian music melts together. To contemplate and study this sacred, blue sound is my ultimate goal as a musician.

I play solo in churches and at various concert halls and festivals. I also play together with internationally well known bands as Caledonia Jazzband and Chateau Neuf Spelemannslag (CNS). My first solo album, Music from Indigo Valley was released 2001, followed by the experimental Improvisions in 2005, a daring excursion in solo clarinet improvisations. I am currently working with my third cd, Love, the Blues, out in september october 2008.

On this site you will learn more about my music, my bands and solo projects. You will find pictures, mp3-files and a lot more. You can also visit my clarinet site
