Introduction
The aim of this article is to offer a very basic presentation of different aspects of the clarinet. among themes treated here is the history of the clarinet, the clarinet in different kinds of music, the different types of clarinets, some of the major clarinet makers and aspects on clarinet playing. While you might find more detailed treatments on the various subjects elsewhere on the net (see the links), my purpose here is only to gather some o the information in one place (viewed and interpreted through my lenses though) in order to offer a general overview.
